Do Not Let A Bully Bully You

The topic is: You always have to stand up to a bully. I was talking to somebody who gave me a call about a case. They have a good case but they're hesitant to do it because they're like

"I don't know anything about this injury stuff. I don't know how injury or workers comp works. I never dealt with it. I don't want to deal with it. I just want to go to work and make money. I want to focus on getting better.

But on the flip side, this person was frustrated because they're not getting the medical care they need. They're not getting paid while they're off work and those are a couple of things you're supposed to be entitled to under workers comp. Now just because you're entitled to that stuff under workers comp doesn't mean they give it to you.

Dirty Tricks

I'm going to tell you there's dozens of dirty tricks. They like to pretend that it's all just bureaucracy or oh we switched the adjuster you know we gave the file to a different adjuster they're coming up to speed or oh it was a complete computer glitch while we cut your TTD off and this sort of stuff.

Bureaucracy is terrible. I'm constantly trying to make things efficient in my office so things happen automatically. I understand it but it happens with too much frequency whether you're dealing with a workers comp case, a car accident case. Once an insurance company or a claims company is involved they're not really interested in helping you out or handling things the right way.

People Just Give Up And Abandon The Claim

And I understand that life can be overwhelming and you just want the injury situation to be over. You've got a million other things on your plate, you got a million other things you got to do, the last thing you want to do is get on the phone with an adjuster or somebody like that where you're not even sure what they're telling you is true or not.

You can't even be sure that the things they're telling you are the truth or whether they're just BS in you. Believe it or not there's a significant other number of cases and claims where people just give up and abandon the claim. They just say too much, too confusing, I'm too overwhelmed, I give up, I'm just going to ignore it and then the case the deadline for doing the case passes and that's it they get nothing. And it's because they're frustrated, they don't know how these cases work but I'm going to tell you something.

Insurance Companies Act Like Bullies

The reason why insurance companies in a work injury case or any kind of case do what they do. They act like bullies, act like there's always a problem, is because they know they get away with it. And they know it makes a certain percentage of injured people just give up and when they give up that means they don't have to pay any money whatsoever.

And as I've said in a lot of my other articles, they don't care about you. It may be a human being on the other side of the phone, but the person pulling the shots, it's a corporation and they just don't care. They just don't care about whether you're getting paid, what it's doing to your family, what's happening to you, none of that matters to them. They care about what they got to pay and how little can they get away with paying and can they just not pay you anything. That's just sort of how the way it works.

Insurance Industry Gets Worse

So your only question is what happens when a bully bullies people and gets away with it? Does it make them a bigger bully or do they just give up? No. When a bully can bully somebody with no consequence, they just get worse and worse. And that's what's happening in the injury industry. Too many people think they're just going to call the adjuster and everything's going to be smooth or if they hit a bump, they're just willing to give up. And you just can't do that, you can't do that.

What's the solution? Well the solution is to work with a lawyer who isn't just a guy who's going to give up. You have to work with somebody who will actually analyze your situation and take the weight off you. For example, in my office we do everything. Now if a client is interested in helping, we ask them to help or if there's information that we have no other way to get, we will call the client and ask questions. But that's usually about it. We do all the legwork on the cases.

Talk To A Lawyer

We do all the communication so there's no more awkward phone call between you and the insurance adjuster or you and anybody. And if there is, you can always call us and we'll take care of it for you. Believe me, the pace of life has never been crazier, there has never been more pressure on people. Financial pressure, the economy is rough for lots of employment opportunities, it's hard to find a job, it's hard to find a good job even though they say that there's all these good jobs out there that nobody wants. I talk to a lot of people in the course of a month and I'm hearing the same thing. People are just up to here and they've had it.

They've got no more mental and emotional energy to fight with an insurance company for things that they deserve and that's why talking to a lawyer is a really good idea. If you get a good lawyer, you're going to have a nice relationship with a lawyer, you're going to have a nice situation. You can go back to worrying about the things you need to worry about and let the lawyer, if you got a good one, handle the details. You got somebody in your corner who knows the law better than the insurance company.

Why Should You Call A Lawyer?

And that's really my message for you today. It's a different way to look at why you should call a lawyer. Obviously you get more money in the case with a lawyer and you get answers with a lawyer. It's a good thing to do. And listen, I know it's self-serving to say if you got hurt call a lawyer. Obviously I make my money by being a lawyer but what I'm telling you is not BS. What I'm telling you is true because I talk to hundreds of people, well maybe not hundreds in my busy month I might talk to 100 people a month.

But you know I'm not bs'ing you. I'm telling you, if you just think that they're going to treat you fairly, you're leaving money on the table and you're creating more stress for yourself, more stress and problems for yourself. So if you've had it up to here you need to talk to a lawyer please consider giving me a call.
