Chicago Car Crash Lawyer – The 5 Kinds of Car Crash Cases

The Five Kind of Car Crash Cases

In this video, Chicago car crash lawyer Scott DeSalvo reveals the 5 kinds of car crash cases and what YOU should do if you or a loved one has been involved in a crash.

Here are the five-car crash types:

  1. Rear Ender
  2. T-Bone
  3. Lane Change
  4. Head-On
  5. Left Turn

There are so many things to think about after a car accident that it can be hard to know what to do.  You heart is racing and your mind is going a mile a minute. This is a very well known medical and physical reaction to a crash.  Your adrenaline is pumping and you may even feel short of breath.  That’s due to the surprise and trauma of a crash.

First thing is to remain calm after a car crash.

Make sure no one is in further danger.  Call the police.  Move the cars if they are in a position which could cause a further crash, if, but only if, that can be done safely.

If someone has serious injuries that are obvious at the scene of the crash (many injuries develop later, after the adrenaline wears off and swelling sets in), help them or comfort them at the scene of the crash.

If you have been in a crash, get witness statements and get photos of the car damage.

See a doctor if you have any pain, and consider getting a free consultation with a lawyer so you know what to expect and how to make sure your bills get paid and your rights are protected.

Make sure to get a police report after any motor vehicle crash.

That’s really important. Some crummy insurance companies write into their insurance policy that you cannot make a claim unless you got a police report within 24 hours of the crash, and reported the accident to the insurance company within 24 hours.  Either way, getting a police report and making sure that you report the crash is very important.

You may want to talk to a lawyer before giving an insurance company a written or recorded statement.  I tell all of my clients this. Many insurance companies work hard to get a recorded statement from injured people very quickly after a crash.  This insurance company claims adjusters use outlines and techniques that they are taught by lawyers.  They want to elicit certain answers from you, because their goal, how they make money, is to collect premiums and come up with a reason NOT to pay claims.
