In Workers’ Comp cases, you are entitled to be paid while off work; to get related medical bills paid, and to get a lump sum of money for the change in your body. Mr. DeSalvo explains how this works. Of course, there are other things you can get in a Workers Comp case, depending on your case.

In Personal Injury cases, like a car crash, dog bite, truck crash, fall down, etc., your case is decided by a Judge and/or Jury. You can ask for medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, loss of a normal life and disfigurement, and even emotional/psychological injury.

BUT HERE ARE THE BASICS OF INJURY CASE DAMAGES.

1. An injury lawyer can only tell you specifics if he or she has already throroughly reivewed your file and gotten all of your medical bills and records.  Don't believe it when someone tells you an exact amount your case might be worth over the phone or after ashort conversation.
2. The more treatment and higher medical bills, generally the more valuable the case is.  Which this is generally true, an experienced Chicago personal injury lawyer will tell you that we need far more information to put a value on a case, but that's a good place to start.
3.   All types of injuries we want to claim or can claim should or MUST be supported by the opinion of a doctors.  Preferably one of your treating doctors. The law reuqires us to prove a link between the accident and your injuries.  And doctors are the only ones who can usually make that connection for you.
